We had a great experience here. The chicken and sausage gumbo was so good (we are so picky when it comes to gumbo, we don't like all those onions in there. There wasn't many and it was delicious!) We also ordered a hamburger and shrimp poboy. We had to take it to go because we were full from the gumbo. Our waitress Kari was amazing, she was very knowledgeable and very sweet. I definitely want to come back for breakfast!

This place was awesome. The coffee was amazing. The biscuits were so fluffy, smoked sausage on point. Thanks to all the other reviewers who left detailed reviews so I could make the decision to go. The staff were very friendly and overall it was the perfect breakfast spot. We have a few more days here so we'll be back!!

I am proud to say that I was born in Sulphur but raised in Texas! I came down to visit my grandmother for Mother’s Day and she suggested Southern Spice! I said okay, I’ve never been there let’s go! I was not expecting the meal I got! I ordered the beef tips over rice with mashed potatoes and green beans!!! When I tell you I could have licked that plate clean if it were considered socially acceptable!!! That was the best meal I had ever eaten in my life. I will come back every time now!

This is a classic Southern diner with delicious fried food, wings, seafood, salads, and friendly servers. We were passing through on a trip from South Georgia to Houston, Texas and in a bit of a rush. The waitress served a delicious meal very quickly and we were on our way.

The food was solid, the restaurant was clean and updated. Service was a little spotty but extremely polite with Southern Hospitality. Surprisinly the Hot Dogs, Shrimp PO-Boy were amazing. Definitely worth a try.

The breakfast was great and the prices are very good. Definitely will be back when in town. Kaley was awesome and we loved her jokes! Keep being Awesome!!

I am thankful that someone recommended Southern Spice for a good home cooked meal! A true gem of Lake Charles. The waitress was fantastic. The food is awesome! I had Western Omelette with added Ham. Plus I had Two Biscuits with Country Gravy. The biscuits are so soft and fluffy!! My coworker had the Ribeye Steak and Eggs. He says that is the best steak and eggs that he has ever had!!!!! 5 Stars
